What I Offer
Therapeutic Services
Individual therapy (once or twice weekly)
Relationship therapy: I draw on different models of couple therapy in my work - the Tavistock model and Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy. I have experience working with couples, people in open relationships and those who consider themselves polyamorous.
LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy: Whilst I am trained to work with people across all walks of life, I have acquired further training and a specialism for working with the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach with LGBTQIA+ folk is tailored so that the unique challenges faced by that group are held in mind. These could include:
-
internalised homophobia
-
issues with coming out and complex family dynamics
-
chemsex
-
navigating open relationships
-
'out of control' sexual behaviour
-
sex work
-
HIV
Confidentiality:
It isn't uncommon for people to be concerned about confidentiality given that what they discuss often concerns private or intimate details about their lives. Therapy is a confidential process, however, I attend regular supervision in which I discuss the work anonymously. No private details are shared in this environment, and it serves as a way of reviewing the work so that I can ensure that my attempts at helping you are sound.
There are only specific circumstances in which I may have to breach confidentiality:
1) You provide me with information that makes me think that you or someone else is at risk of harm
2) Situations required by law
Cancellation policy:
Once we have agreed to start therapy, your slot will be reserved for you. Any sessions cancelled within 7 days of your appointment will be payable in full.
Fees:
Fees are discussed on an individual basis. I have a limited number of vacancies for those in financial need. At present, I am unable to offer medicare rebates.
Writing
I am available to write specialist articles or advice columns requiring a psychological perspective. I pay close attention to the unconscious aspects of our experiences, so my perspective would be suited to those organisations or individuals wanting a more in-depth consideration of the issue at hand.

I have also written academic articles, available here:
Queer Minds, Queer Needs (2023): https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/13642537.2022.2156134
A systematic review and meta-analysis of interventions incorporating behaviour change techniques to promote breastfeeding among postpartum women (2019): https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31117897/
Workshops
I am available for talks and workshops on topics related to my mission - that is, a commitment to bringing a more thoughtful and in-depth approach to issues in contemporary life. I am committed to making complicated and academic ideas more accessible so that they can be made use of by everyone.

Lecturing
I have worked as a Lecturer and Research Supervisor on Doctoral Psychology training programmes previously. As a result of my experience, I am well-equipped to offer ad-hoc teaching at Universities or on Psychotherapy programmes, particularly on the topic of psychodynamic thinking in clinical practice.
I have specialist knowledge and skills for working with the LGBTQIA+ community (and diversity more broadly) so am also able to offer teaching that up-skills trainees or qualified clinicians for working with these themes.
